Separable Portions 1 and 2 for the Perth Children's Hospital Shell Theatre Fit out

The Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) requires a Contractor for the construction of Separable Portion 1 and 2 for the fit out for the Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH) shell theatre. The PCH Theatre complex consists of eleven (11) Operating rooms inclusive of an iMRI. There is one shelled space for a future theatre fit out (the 12th Theatre) located between theatre nine (9) and the iMRI suite. The establishment of the 12th operating theatre as a general theatre will provide a total of twelve (12) theatres, thereby increasing CAHS operating theatre capacity and providing an opportunity to future proof for digital enhancements in the emerging fields of artificial intelligence and robotic surgery.

By increasing the number of theatres to 12, a minimum of 18 Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) beds is required to meet the Western Australia Health Facility Guideline (WAHFG). Currently, PCH only have 17 PACU beds. To meet this requirement, several forward works are required to take place prior to the fitout work in Theatre 12. The project is proposed to be delivered in two portions:

Separable Portion 1 work involves:

• Conversion of the PACU isolation room into an additional patient bay
• Conversion of PACU isolation room ensuite into medical gas store and cleaner storage
• Reconfiguration of theatre reception office into a storage room and reconfiguration of the reception area to add an additional workstation
• Minor works to storage rooms to remove overhead cabinets and relocate to other work areas.

Separable Portion 2 work involves:

• Fitting out of the 12th operating theatre, currently a shell
• An anaesthetic induction room
• An exit / scrub bay

Premises will be occupied during the currency of the Contract. The Contractor shall ensure that it causes minimal inconvenience and disturbance to the occupants.
