INNER CITY SPECIAL PROJECTS

The SA Housing Trust undertakes a variety of building works and renovation/fitout projects (also incorporating heritage listed buildings) in the inner city area on behalf of non-government agencies and service providers. These are generally of a medium density configuration and funded through the Crisis Accommodation Program (CAP) with an estimated price range of $0.5m to $2.0m. The Trust invites registrations of interest from suitably qualified and experienced building contractors to undertake this work. Registrants are required to demonstrate (no more than 4 pages); relevant experience in inner city, medium density, residential developments and/or renovation/fitout projects (including heritage listed buildings);list their key personnel to be involved and QA systems adopted; reputation for work competence (including references as required); financial viability (banker##s statement); ability to complete projects on time. The first of these projects is the redevelopment of a Night Shelter for Homeless Men in Whitmore Square for St Vincent de Paul, estimated at approx $1.8m. Construction is due to commence 25 February and must be completed by 30 September 2002 (demolition component by others).
