Westport - Leadership and Delivery of Strategy and Policy (Interim)

Westport is seeking a leader experienced in the development and delivery of Strategy and Policy to oversee development, implementation and execution of a program of works within the next stage of Westport. This is your chance to shape the future of WA’s port and supply chain and help catalyse real change in construction and operations for real benefits to WA.

The consultant will lead the Strategy and Policy team, and provide strategic input into other workstream programs. You will oversee the development, implementation and execution of a suite of strategies and frameworks that will provide a wide range of critical inputs to Westport programs and projects, including productivity and workforce development, ESG and sustainability, Noongar opportunities and engagement, resource efficiency and more.You will advise and collaborate with other executive leadership team members, and engage with stakeholders both internal and external to government to seek subject matter expertise and reach consensus on outcomes.

The consultant will deliver team management, mentoring and development both within the Strategy and Policy division and elsewhere across Westport, and will provide advice and strategic policy direction across the Westport program of works.

The consultant will work at or near full time in the Westport Offices for approximately 6 months and be part of the executive leadership team (with restricted decision-making authority as a contractor). This role is being procured and is ‘interim’ as the State government considers the scope of the next stage of Westport after completion of the Business Case. The Westport Program will respond to that direction in 2025 including establishing the right workforce and long-term staffing of this role as required.
