Preliminary Design Package for Long Range Patrol Vessel
Details
Description
The Department of National Parks Sport and Racing (NPSR) is seeking offers from qualified and experienced shipbuilding firms and/or naval architects to develop a suitable Preliminary Design Package for a long range expedition style patrol vessel for use within the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area (GBWHA), Torres Straits and Gulf of Carpentaria.
NPSR own and manage all vessels delivering the on-water service delivery for the protection of the Great Barrier Reef Marine World Heritage Area.
NPSR is aware that there is considerable innovation available in the market place and is interested in exploring all possibilities of vessel hull forms, including different materials and propulsion power, in an effort to find a design which will best suit their operational needs while minimising the impact of such a vessel on the environment.
The offered vessel design must provide for safe, reliable, effective and efficient operations for a minimum of 20 years.
