The plant was originally constructed in the mid 1980’s and with various augmentations it now consists of two Dissolved Air Floatation (DAF) cells, four Direct Filter (DF) cells and various chemical dosing, water storage and water pumping facilities capable of producing 21 ML/day.

North East Water is undertaking an upgrade project at the Yarrawonga WTP, generally consisting of:

- Replacement of Plant Main Switchboard/MCC

- Replacement of DAF MCC - Replacement of PLC

- Replacement of backup generator

- Media and Nozzle replacement in DF Cell #3, and

- Various process improvements

North East Water is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced contractor with the project management skills and systems to act as a Principal Contractor to deliver the works, under a Design & Construct Contract, using their own resources or through management of suitably qualified sub-contractors as required.

The implementation strategy for the works will need to ensure that the plant can always produce sufficient water to meet consumer requirements each day for the duration of the project.
