The Overseas Property Office, as part of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), is seeking Registrations of Interest for the selection of a Construction Contractor, for the refurbishment of the Australian High Commission’s Chancery in Wellington, New Zealand. The terms and conditions of the invitation for registrations of interest, together with a description of the services sought, are set out in the Invitation to Register Interest included in the Briefing Pack referred to below. Registrations of Interest are invited from suitably qualified firms wishing to participate in this project and who have recent experience in providing construction services on similar or relevant projects, both in New Zealand and elsewhere Overseas. Firms having construction experience and representation within the immediate region, and those who have previous construction experience in similar projects are particularly encouraged to Register Interest. The Construction Contractor will be responsible for the refurbishment of a high quality building with specific DFAT requirements for finishes, services and security. The Construction Contractor will also be expected to work in a collaborative environment to achieve a ‘Best for Project’ outcome. The project will be delivered using a traditional lump sum tender contract. It is envisaged that tenders for the works will be called in May 2005 with works proceeding until mid 2006. Registrations of Interest only are sought at this stage with DFAT supplying a full set of construction drawings and specifications to short listed Construction Contractors who will be invited to tender for the works.
