Description

The Radio Systems Replacement (RSR) Project is a major upgrade of the PTA’s existing radio system that will see the deployment of a new digital radio system for railway communications based on Long-Term Evolution (LTE) technology. The new radio system will initially support a standards-based mission-critical push-to-talk (MCPTT) voice application and a broadband data capability for projects such as High-Capacity Signaling (HCS). The RSR project is currently well into the delivery phase, with two major contracts awarded to Nokia and UGL in the later stages of design, and early construction activities now underway. Project completion is expected in mid-2026. The project requires the services of a Surveying consultant with experience in feature surveys, underground service detection scanning and verification of third-party contractors’ construction setup against survey benchmarks.
