Dandenong Hospital UPS Upgrade and Consolidation

The key deliverable of this tender is to provide a full turnkey solution for the Ups Upgrade & Consolidation at the Dandenong hospital. The works will include the supply and installation of a new UPS System, mains cabling and distribution switchboards and the subsequent demolition, disconnection and removal of existing redundant UPS systems and cabling. The proposed electrical works will alter the current operating regime of the UPS Supported installations and special consideration shall be given to the timely change-over of the existing systems to the new consolidated UPS system. The project will require strategic planning throughout all work activities.

Decommissioning of the existing UPS systems and change-over to the new UPS supply system shall be coordinated with MH Engineering, the User Group of the respective departments and the Clinical Operations Group. All change over periods shall be out-of-hours to minimise disruption to the hospital operations.

The electrical installer will be required to coordinate their works with the main Contractor establishing the new UPS room and the mechanical installer who will be demolishing the existing air handling unit in the South Plant Room to enable the UPS Room to be constructed.

The project will include the following new installations:

• Making safe and demolition of existing services
• Installation of a new UPS and battery units
• New electrical switchboards
• New mains cabling
• New cable ladder and cable tray systems
• New battery metering system
• Modification to existing medical services panels (MSPs) in the Special Care Nursery
