Description

Particulars

This micro-credential proposal is for the Freight and Logistics industry. The NETM conducted an industry workshop on 17 November 2022 to examine skills constraints within the freight and logistics sector in the Western Parkland City (WPC). Industry representatives highlighted the need to understand supply chain ethics and how the processes of tracking labour and sustainable practices can be optimised, with a focus on ISO and UN standards. An integral part of global supply chains is sourcing, which is often the subject of exploitation, fraud, bribery, and malpractice. These practices place significant responsibility on companies to address supply chain ethics across their operations, including within domestic contexts. An ethical supply chain is a practice that focuses on the need for corporate social responsibility, working to produce goods and services in a way that treats workers and the environment ethically. Applying the principles of supply chain ethics should include the full supply chain, including raw material suppliers and not only the manufacturers of products.
