Native Title Assessments Contractor

TMR requires a contractor to undertake Native Title assessments and assist within the Native Title Unit.

As a Government Agency, TMR must adhere to the requirements of the Native Title Act (Cwlth) 1993 and address all Native Title issues prior to the commencement of works. The risk of litigation exists for projects where Native Title issues have not been addressed. Work carried out by the NTU is considered front line as it negates the risk of litigation and ensures our reputation with indigenous people.

NTU undertakes Native Title assessments for TNRP clients. Currently NTU is experiencing an increased workload and a shortage of resources to meet the current demand. As this can impact on project delivery, additional resources are being engaged through this contract. The primary objective of this contract is to assist with the management and delivery of TNRP associated native title assessments. The successful contractor may also be required to undertake other NT duties should there be a change to current priorities.
