Description

Programmed Facility Management (Programmed FM) has been engaged by Department of Communities to deliver a portion of the Social Housing Economic Recovery Package (SHERP).

The SHERP is to aid in the WA Covid-19 economic recovery and support the WA Construction industry while improving the lifespan and quality of homes available for social housing. While the primary objective of SHERP is about creating jobs in the building and construction industry, SHERP also provides an opportunity to focus on employment outcomes for members of the community who experience barriers to employment and for those who are disproportionately impacted by the economic and social impacts of COVID-19. This includes Aboriginal people, women, youth and people with disability. The strategic principles underpinning this approach is to support the employment of Aboriginal people, women, youth and people with disability.

As part of this package and the Aboriginal Housing Strategy (AHS), Programmed Facility Management Pty Ltd (PFM) on behalf of Department of Communities are seeking Tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors to undertake routine termite pest inspection and barrier control.

Refer to 1.1 showing the “List of Properties”, location and status as occupied or tenanted, as included under Attachment 1.

he Work includes but is not limited to termite pest inspections and barrier control, with an inspection report required. (Refer to the 1.2 “Pest Control Inspect and Report Template” included under Attachment 1).

Tenderers shall make themselves familiar with the existing site conditions, the scope of works and specifications, and all Contract documentation. All measurements and details shown on drawings or other documents (if any) are to be confirmed by Tenderers prior to submission of their tender.

All materials and installation shall be supplied and be in accordance with Australian Standards and all codes and regulations relevant to the Scope of Work contained herein.

In addition to standard legislation and standards required for works to be carried, contractors should be especially aware of the following standards with respect to pest control maintenance including but not limited to:

(i)AS 1678.10.001 –1998 Emergency procedure guide –transport –pesticides;

(ii)AS 3660.1 –2000 Termite management –new building work;

(iii)AS 3660.2 –2000Termite management –in and around existing buildings and structures –guidelines;

(iv)AS 3660.3 –2000Termite management –assessment criteria for termite management systems;

(v)AS 4349.3 –2010 Inspection of buildings –timber pest inspections; and

(vi)AS/NZS ISO 22608 –2007Protective clothing –protection against liquid chemicals –measurement of repellency, retention and penetration of liquid pesticide formulations through protective clothing Materials.

Where amendments exist, the Contractor must be aware to the latest amendment. All pest control work is to be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Department of Health. For further information, please visit www.public.health.wa.gov.au
