Transwa On-Board Entertainment Solution

1.1 Background

The purpose of Transwa is to provide a customer-focused, safe and cost-effective public transport service to regional Western Australia. Through its road and rail services, Transwa strives to provide an enjoyable and comfortable service that includes an on-board entertainment system on the Prospector rail service and the road coach fleet.

1.2 Scope of Requirement

Transwa require a Contractor to provide Content for on-board entertainment on its road coach fleet and Prospector railcars.

Prospector

The Contractor must be able to deliver a content solution that is compatible with its current on-board entertainment system (VOLO in-seat system). A ‘Bring Your Own Device’ solution is to be presented as an option only for the purpose of this tender.

Road Coach Fleet

Transwa require a Contractor who can deliver an application (app) based ‘Bring Your Own Device’ (BYOD) entertainment system and supply content for its road coach fleet.

Although the BYOD solution is the preferred method for on-board entertainment, Transwa would like a solution that also allows the Driver to display content on the overhead monitors throughout the road coach for those passengers without their own device.

The Contractor will be responsible the supplying and installing the equipment to the Transwa fleet and ensure that it is operating and functions correctly without any detriment to the operation of the road coach. Technical support post installation will also be required to ensure the system operates as required.

The BYOD solution shall also off the ability to deliver custom information content such as promotional material, travel schedules and meal / drink menus and have this able to be centrally managed across all trains and coaches.
