Description

Naturebank is a Western Australian Government initiative, delivered by Tourism Western Australia (Tourism WA) and the Department of Parks and Wildlife (Parks and Wildlife), with an aim to prepare sites for development of quality environmentally sensitive eco experiences in the State’s national and conservation parks.

The Naturebank program identifies suitable sites, undertakes environmental and cultural assessments of each site and releases the sites or opportunities through an open competitive Expression of Interest (EOI) process.

The State Government launched the Naturebank program in 2009 and committed $5.2m over 4 years of Royalties for Regions funding to implement a suite of Naturebank initiatives.

The current Naturebank program is due for completion on 30 June 2014.

Tourism WA and Parks and Wildlife are now seeking to appoint a suitably qualified consultant to assess the outcomes of the current program and the viability in future years of continuing the program.
