Description

This specification details the requirements and conditions for mud rotary drilling and construction of deep Yarragadee aquifer monitoring bores for the North Gingin groundwater investigation. The drilling program will carry out works on the Swan Coastal Plain approximately 80 to 140 km north of Perth, Western Australia. Drilling will occur at twelve (12) sites between the coastal settlements of Seabird and Wedge Island with an average bore depth of 500 m. Under this contract it is proposed to complete one bore at each site with approximately 6,000 m of drilling required in total for the twelve sites.
New monitoring bores are required to provide valuable new data and fill knowledge gaps that will complement and improve the Department of Water’s understanding of groundwater resources across Western Australia. This investigation is part of the State Groundwater Investigation Program, which is an initiative of the Department of Water to improve the understanding (distribution and nature) of the groundwater resources across Western Australia.
