N2253B - Stage Two Critical Infrastructure Recovery Project - Managing Contractor Invitation to Register Interest

Registrations of Interest are invited from suitably qualified entities to undertake the role of Managing Contractor for certain works on the basis described in the Invitation to Register Interest. The Commonwealth will then create a shortlist from which it will invite tenders for the works.

Project N2253B involves works to address condition, structural, compliance, and operational risks associated with the wharves and berthing infrastructure, and the electrical supply and engineering services at Garden Island (East), Sydney, NSW.

At the time of issuing the Invitation to Register Interest, the works are expected to include the following:

- works to address condition, compliance and capacity issues associated with the Base's electrical supply and engineering services;

- repairs to wharf timber piles and repair/replacement of wharf concrete piles;

- replacement of wharf bollards and repair of fenders and wharf connections;

- upgrades to Base wharf engineering services including electrical services, compressed air services, seawater services, potable water services, sewer services and fuel services;

- rectification of wharf subsidence, including seawall repairs/replacement and pile scour protection;

- cathodic protection of reinforced concrete elements to control corrosion; and

- investigations of the future crane use at Garden Island (East), and also the capacity, condition and compliance of the Captain Cook Graving (Dry) Dock.

At the time of issuing the Invitation to Register Interest, the estimated value of the works is in the order of $167m.
