Description
Tenders are invited for the purchase of, or the design and construction of, a new Offshore Police Patrol Vessel (OPPV) that meets the special needs requirements and specifications of the Department of Police and Emergency Management (DPEM). Key marine responsibilities of Tasmania Police incude: the protection of fisheries and maritime industries, marine safety enforcement, search and rescue operation and State Security marine operations.
The OPPV will be required to perform marine and fisheries patrols as well as undertake search and rescue operations in all coastal and offshore Tasmanian waters, including Bass Strait, up to 200 nautical miles from the coast, in extreme weather and sea conditions.
