QLD Public Safety Business Agency
Referral Management Coordination Service
Details
Description
The Public Safety Business Agency on behalf of the Queensland Police Service (QPS) recognise the referral of ‘at-risk’ and vulnerable community members to support agencies as core to contemporary policing practice. The QPS actively refers clients across a range of social issue categories, typically to NGOs offering support in areas such as domestic violence, parenting and youth, homelessness, aged support, drug and alcohol abuse, mental illness, suicide prevention and victim support.
In the future, it is intended that referrals be undertaken using a shared business solution which is currently being sourced by the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services. To support the governance and administration of QPS referrals (processed through the shared solution) a Referral Management Coordination Service is required. The Referral Management Coordination Service underpins the efficient and effective operations of QPS initiated referrals. Its role incorporates referral administration, governance and service delivery support.
