Description
The Department of Environment and Conservation has the responsibility for protecting and conserving the State’s environment on behalf of the people of Western Australia. This includes managing the State’s national parks, marine parks, conservation parks, State forests and timber reserves, nature reserves, marine nature reserves and marine management areas.
The Jurien Bay Marine Park (JBMP) extends from Green Head south to Wedge Island. Within the JBMP, the Department has in place a system of zone markers to indicate to the boating public the location of Sanctuary Zone and Scientific Reference Zone boundaries.
