Description

The Sustainable Rivers Audit (SRA) is proceeding with the implementation of two new indicator themes: vegetation and physical forms. The proposal for the two themes is for the collection of consistent information, resulting in repeatable outputs that can be re-analysed as further information comes at hand.

The objective of this project is to acquire high-resolution elevation data from Full Wave Form LiDAR and multi-spectral imagery. Deliverables include: a Digital Elevation Model (DEM), Digital Terrain Model (DTM), Canopy Elevation Model (CEM), Mean Percent of LiDAR Returns (PLR) layer, contour intervals, and wetted river area. In addition, the automation or semi-automation of variable extraction for the Vegetation and Physical Form Vegetation Themes is required.

The project is divided into four components: LiDAR Data Acquisition, Aerial Imagery Data Acquisition, Automation or semi-automation of Physical Form Theme Variable Extraction, and Automation or semi-automation of Vegetation Theme Variable Extraction.
