Supply of Electricity, Large Contestable Sites

Seqwater is one of Australia's largest water businesses with the most geographically spread and diverse asset base of any capital city water authority in the country. With operations which extend from the New South Wales border, to the base of the Toowoomba ranges and north to Gympie, Seqwater manages more than $9 billion of water supply assets and the natural catchments of the region's major water supply sources. This includes dams, weirs, conventional water treatment plants and climate resilient sources of water through the Gold Coast Desalination Plant and the Western Corridor Recycled Water Scheme. Twelve of the largest treatment plants are connected by a 600 kilometre pipeline network which allows water to be transported to where it is needed most.

Sewater's current electricity supply agreement for large contestable sites expires 31 December 2013. It is estimated that potential consumption will be up to 130GWh per annum.

Seqwater is seeking Tenders from suitably resourced electricity retailers to supply electricity to the relevant Seqwater sites (these sites will be illustrated within the attached documentation) from 1 January 2014 and for a minimum term of 1 year and a maximum term of 3 years. The electricity provided under any electricity supply agreement will be used for pumping and treating water to supply drinking water to communities.

Historical interval consumption data has been provided to Tenderers for the purposes of this RFT but is intended as background information only and should not be regarded as final usage figures.
