Provision of Ground Maintenance Services for D'Aguilar National Park

The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service manages multiple day-use areas (DUAs) in protected areas in and around Brisbane. Part of this management involves mowing the grass and trimming the edges of the areas. QPWS also manages several staff accommodation areas that also need mowing. This work is contracted outside the Department.

The day-use areas are open to the public and contain facilities such as picnic tables, BBQs, toilet blocks and shelter sheds and as such, are prone to vandalism and littering.
Locations:
D’Aguilar management area is broken into two sections – the Southern section and the Northern section.

• The Southern section contains six day-use areas and two staff accommodation sites (one near Camp Mountain and one in Mount Glorious) that need to be mowed regularly.
Access to all areas in the southern section apart from the ranger accommodation is along bitumen roads.
• The Northern section contains five day-use areas, a helipad, one large ranger accommodation / workshop area, an office area, and one campground.

Access to all areas apart from Archer campground and Broadwater day-use area in the northern section is along bitumen roads.

Access to Archer campground and Broadwater day-use area may involve traversing 15km of unsealed road that can be impassable in wet weather and have rough surfaces. These two sites can also be accessed from the North via Rasmussen and Neurum Roads via Woodford. This access has a couple of kilometers of unsealed road.
