Request for Expression of Interest for Australian Early Development Census

The Department of Education (The Department) is seeking responses from entities (Respondents) interested in delivering the Australian Early Development Census (AEDC) 2024 collection cycle. The AEDC is a national population measure of how young children have developed by the time they start their first year of full-time school. It is an Australian Government initiative delivered in partnership with State and Territory governments.

The Department invites responses for the streamlined provision of the following Services:

a) Management of the 2024 AEDC data collection, including the collection, cleaning, distribution of AEDC data and reporting on processes undertaken during the collection cycle.

b) Provide a Helpdesk for stakeholders and drive communication to parents, schools and communities.

c) Manage relationships with the State and Territories, including State and Territory Coordinators and other stakeholders.

d) Provide ongoing strategic support and program management for the AEDC including facilitation of regular meetings, inductions, training, development of resources and ongoing delivery support.

e) Develop, design and maintain a new AEDC website that is compelling, informative and includes interactive functionality.

f) Enhance AEDC accessibility and data useability for a broad range of stakeholders, including;

- States and Territories

- Government

- Schools

- Communities

- Researchers.

g) Produce a National Report that is engaging and effectively compliments the interactive data available on the AEDC website.

The Department is also seeking innovative ideas from a supplier(s) on how the AEDC can be delivered for the 2024 collection cycle. Planning for the 2024 collection cycle commences in July 2022 with the end of the cycle concluding 30 June 2026.
