Introduction to Reverse Engineering micro-credential: Understand the principles and techniques of reverse engineering; Understand how different equipment and techniques can be used to create digital models; Develop introductory competence in the analysis and interpretation of data from scans; Gain a limited understanding of how a variety of software tools can be used to manipulate and modify digital models; and Understand how applying reverse engineering techniques in fields such as mechanical design, manufacturing, and quality assurance can increase efficiency and decrease costs. Reverse Engineering Process micro-credential: • Understand point clouds and how to manipulate them; • Understand how to set up items to reverse engineer with manual methods or 3D scanning; • Understand how to convert and manipulate point cloud data into a solid body for machining, 3D printing or quality checks; and • Understand how to evaluate and validate the accuracy of reverse engineered models against original objects.
