Provision of Taxi Users Subsidy Scheme (TUSS) Application Assessment Services

The Department of Transport’s (DoT) On-demand Transport (OdT) business unit currently regulates the on demand transport industry through the Taxi Act 1994 and Transport Co-ordination Act 1966. OdT also administers travel subsidies for the industry and customers, including the Taxi Users’ Subsidy Scheme (TUSS).

DoT’s role in the on-demand transport industry is currently being significantly reformed. Therefore, the scope of work related to this Request may be varied and the volume of work may either decrease or increase over the period of the resulting contract.

TUSS provides taxi travel at a reduced rate for people who have a severe and permanent disability that will always prevent them from using conventional public transport services. Offers are being sought for the provision of the Taxi Users’ Subsidy Scheme (TUSS) application assessment services. The Customer may appoint more than one contractor (Panel) to mobility, vision, and cognitive ability and functional capacity of an applicant as documented by their doctor to determine eligibility against the scheme’s criteria.
