Description
The Department requires a Supplier to conduct community-focussed consultations with people with lived experience of family, domestic and sexual violence (FDSV) that have sought assistance from, or had interactions with police. Consultations within the community will represent, but are not limited to; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse people, people with disability, and LGBTIQ+.
The Supplier will collate and produce the findings in an outcomes report which will then be used by the Department to contribute to the content of the national training and education package for police. The training and education package is expected to be implemented by mid-June 2026.
The Supplier will undertake the consultations and finalise the outcomes report within a six-month period.
The Department is developing a national training and education package to enhance the effectiveness of police responses to FDSV. This measure was announced through the 2022-23 budget, and is an action under the National Plan to End Violence Against Women and Children 2022 – 2032 (National Plan).
The outcomes from the consultations will contribute content towards the national training and education package.
