Shoulder Widening and Sealing on RN04600 Black Road, Happy Valley.
The Australian Government has provided funding through the 2023-2025 Active Transport projects – Refuges and paths (package 4) to deliver road safety upgrades and improvements. This project will deliver safety improvements on RN04600 Black Road between Main South Road and Happy Valley Drive Roundabout through the sealing and widening of the existing shoulder.
The project scope of RN04600 Black Road is to upgrade the road from the Main South Road intersection to the roundabout with Happy Valley Drive, including:
- the widening and sealing of the existing shoulder to provide a formation width of 2m asphalt sealed shoulder and 300mm unsealed shoulder on both sides of Black Road;
- construction of a 1.2m wide concrete kerb ramp;
- ancillary works relating to the seal works including signage, line marking reinstatement where required; and
- other sealing improvements including minor earthwork to match the existing levels.
PREQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Contractors must be prequalified with the Department under the National Prequalification System for Civil (Road and Bridge) Construction, in the following categories:
- R1 (Roadworks)
- F1 (Financial)
