The proposed works involve the alteration of the existing Animal House which forms part of the DPIPWE Animal Health Laboratories at Mt Pleasant, Prospect.
The project will form additional biosecure fish holding facilities for research and vaccine production for the Tasmania Salmon Industry.
The works are major and will include demolition, new roof, concrete slabs and construction of three new Fish Holding Rooms from insulated panels. In addition, the works include altered or new hydraulic, electrical, mechanical services, cladding, painting, steelwork and associated building works.
It is anticipated that the scheduled works will be completed by early September 2014.
