Provision of Helicopter Hire and Pilots for Aerial Pest Animal Control (shooting) Operations

This Request is for the delivery of aviation services associated with aerial pest animal control operations (shooting) to the Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC).
Pest animals present a significant threat to biodiversity and landscape values and are a major impediment to vegetation recovery, particularly on the former pastoral leasehold land purchased for conservation through programs such as the Gascoyne Murchison Strategy. Aerial shooting is recognised as a legitimate and appropriate means of reducing the threat of pest animals to biodiversity and agricultural/pastoral values and is employed by land management organisations across Australia.
