Supply/Provision of a Clinical Deterioration Education Package for Department of Health.

In August 2010, the Department of Health, Western Australia, commenced the WA Health Clinical Deterioration project. One of the priority areas identified within this project was the need for a standardised education and training package for use within WA hospitals.
The standardised education and training package will assist in facilitating the recognition of clinical deterioration and identifying the appropriate response by ensuring that clinical staff understand:
1) the pathophysiology behind deterioration;
2) how to use a structured approach for communicating and escalating care; and
3) the value of documenting observations.
A Clinical Deterioration Education Manual was developed between May-June 2012 and the final draft was circulated for consultation in August-September 2012.
The successful Respondent will be required to finalise this Clinical Deterioration Education Manual (including some additions and modifications to the case studies). This will include the completion of the formatting and inclusion of comments that have been raised during the consultation process.
In addition, the successful Respondent is required to develop accompanying material to support educators in providing the education sessions to WA Health Service Employees. This specifically includes PowerPoint and simulation role play case studies for use in training.
