Description
Public Transport Authority are responsible for the provision and maintenance of all the at grade pedestrian and level crossings within the rail network. The majority of these were designed and installed prior to the publication of AS 1742.7 (requirements for crossing Design and Warning Times) and are therefore non-compliant with the standard. Australian Level Crossing Assessment Model (ALCAM) assessments are required to determine their current overall condition and level of compliance with Australian Standards in order for Public Transport Authority to prioritise their upgrade program according to the varying level of non compliance.
The project will encompass the assessment of 105 level / pedestrian crossings within the Metropolitan area in order to determine the order of priority for the associated upgrade works.
