Description
Defence Media Training Services.
The Department of Defence’s primary role is to defend Australia and its national interests. Defence has three primary functions: Enabling, Capability and Outputs and Defence Outputs.
Defence members may be required to interact with the media as subject matter experts or spokespeople who can who can deliver news or explain Defence’s position confidently and competently. To assist them in doing so, Defence will offer, via the Service Provider, a media awareness and associated skills training and a support program to its personnel.
The Principal Objectives for the provision of media training services are as follows:
- to assist Defence in promoting and protecting our reputation through effective media engagement.
- to develop and polish the media skills of Defence personnel so that they are powerful communicators on behalf of Defence.
- to develop across Defence a broad understanding of how the media works and how to engage effectively.
