SA Department for Infrastructure and Transport
21C177 Demolition of Properties for the Fullarton Road Intersections Upgrade
Details
Description
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Federal and South Australian Governments have announced $96 million in funding towards the upgrade of the intersections of Cross Road and Fullarton Road and Glen Osmond Road and Fullarton Road. The State Government’s ‘Keeping Metro Traffic Moving’ report identifies these intersections for funding as a priority location for treatments addressing road congestion, so as to keep traffic flowing. Fullarton Road, Cross Road and Glen Osmond Road are major arterial roads with the intersections being used by more than 50,000 motorists every day to commute to the CBD and other parts of the city. This project proposes to increase intersection capacity through the construction of additional through and dedicated turning lanes and associated works.
To facilitate the upgrade of these intersections and Department has acquired a number of properties adjoining the intersections. An experienced demolition contractor is required to demolish and clear the sites prior to the main construction works commencing.
