WA Public Transport Authority

Control Systems Infrastructure Replacement

AwardedRequest for Tender

Description

This project will replace the servers and storage that are managed by Operational Technology and used by Transperth Train Operations to manage the Perth Metropolitan Train Network. The existing infrastructure at both the Public Transport Centre (PTC) and Perth Underground requires additional capacity to cater for the upcoming METRONET services (Forrestfield Airport Link, Morley-Ellenbrook, Yanchep, Thornlie-Cockburn, and Byford); much of the equipment has reached end of life and has limited vendor support. The equipment that has vendor support also needs replacing, as it does not conform to the current Public Transport Authority (PTA) server architecture standards. The servers and storage at both locations will be replaced as part of this project. This implementation of the new hardware will cater for planned network growth and reduce maintenance costs. The project will move all control systems infrastructure onto virtual machines (VMs) as part of increasing the Control Systems capacity.
