Additional Transitional Housing and Support Program (THASP) services

The Mental Health Commission (MHC) are seeking to purchase up to nine additional Transitional Housing and Support Program (THASP) services.

THASP provides community based, independent living for people exiting residential alcohol and other drug (AOD) use problems. residential treatment programs. A key feature of the THASP initiative is ongoing support for clients to help with personal recovery and relapse prevention. Support programs offered through THASP include counseling and support; assistance to integrate back into the community including undertaking education, training and employment; independent living skills; and assistance to identify suitable long term housing.

Respondents are encouraged to consider opportunities for co-designed, innovative and cost effective models of service delivery to remove known barriers to engagement and retention in treatment.

Provision of a suitable house is a mandatory requirement as the available funding is operational only and there is no allowance for capital expenditure. The provision of service by experienced, accredited service providers will ensure the quality of the services and provide a continuum of care for people as they exit residential care.

The service will be provided to a complex client group with significant AOD use problems. All services must meet the needs of target groups as specified in the Western Australian Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drug Services Plan 2015-2025 (The Plan).

The service will be provided for adults or youth (12 – 21 years) people who have completed an adult or youth residential AOD treatment program.
