Invitation To Offer - Provision of a Family and Child Program

The Queensland Government is seeking Proposals for the Delivery of a Family and Child Program within a Correctional Centre setting.

It includes the Design, Development and Delivery of a Program, which considers positive family kinship and community connections for incarcerated offenders

• Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) currently have two programs in place to support female offenders to acquire positive parenting skills and to provide early learning and developmental opportunities for the children of incarcerated female offenders. The programs are currently referred to as;
  • Parenting Programs for QCS
  • Supported Playgroups Program
• Parenting Programs for QCS provide female offenders with an opportunity to develop practical parenting skills over the course of the program.
• The Supported Playgroups Program specifically targets female offenders with children up to five (5) years of age and who may have their children with them in a correctional centre setting or who may be separated from their children.
• It enables mothers and children to connect during playgroup sessions through play based activities, learning experiences and socialising.
• Programs are currently offered at Brisbane Women’s Correctional Centre, Numinbah Correctional Centre, Southern Queensland Correctional Centre and Townsville Women’s Correctional Centre.
• QCS is approaching the market to identify a suitable provider who can deliver both programs in Correctional Centres across Queensland as a funded program.
