Buildability Expert Services

NCA is seeking to engage a suitably qualified, buildability (i.e. constructability) expert (the Consultant) to provide Services that include:

(i) review and critical analysis of the Design Documents, made available by the NCA, at each Design Stage and identification of any design review comments that require closing out at each Design Stage;

(ii) review and critical analysis of the Design approach that includes the identification, scoping and completion of any additional surveys and/or investigations, including materials investigations, required to adequately undertake the Design. The Consultant is not responsible for any additional investigation work. Any additional investigation work will be undertaken by the Design Consultant;

(iii) review and critical analysis of the Design Consultant's approach (and or the Managing Contractor's approach if required as a supplementary service) to temporary works and staging of the Works;

(iv) review and critical analysis of the documentation to support NCA through the process to obtain Parliamentary Approval and EPBC Approval and all other relevant Approvals;

(v) review and provision of input into the identification of Project risks and mitigation measures in collaboration with NCA and its Project Advisers;

(vi) review and provision of input into the development of the Project estimate and value engineering process, in collaboration with NCA and its Project Advisers;

(vii) a collaborative approach to engagement with NCA and its Project Advisers, including but not limited to the Quantity Surveyor, Design Consultant, Principal's Representative and Managing Contractor;

(viii) an approach that achieves the Project Objectives in accordance with the Project Program; and

(ix) support services to the Principal generally during the development of the Design.
