Description
South Australia Police needs to be provided with modern and effective drug testing equipment with a view to reducing deaths on the roads. In the conduct of roadside random drug testing, drivers are to provide an initial saliva sample. Where this sample is positive a second oral fluid analysis is to be submitted which takes place within an on-site vehicle or a ta police station.
This tender seeks responses for the initial saliva sample of the roadside random drug testing.
The objectives of this project are to:
- significantly impove timeframes at the roadside for testing providing a quick and easy sample collection;
- significantly improve the reduction of false positive results between the first and second screening;
- significantly improve equipment reliability and efficiency; and
- reduct costs through new and improved technology for screening equipment improving the overall reliability.
