The Armed Offender Project aims to review NSW school safety and emergency procedures in light of a new trend where students, or people associated with a school, have made threats directed at NSW public schools. The Project includes an assessment of existing policy, procedure and school perspectives of safety relating to the event of an active armed offender. The Department requires an independent reviewer to assess existing school security risks and assets and develop a range of security packages to improve school security as well as a bespoke assessment tool to support schools to assess and plan for an armed offender event. The security packages will be implemented in schools and training will be provided if required
