Early Tender Advice - Audit and Replacement of as Space Heaters in Regional Schools - Kalgoorlie Area
Building Management and Works (BMW) proposes to call tenders for the Audit and Replacement of Gas Space Heaters in government schools in the Midwest, Wheatbelt, Goldfields/Esperance, South West and Southern Regions of Western Australia.
Tenders will be called in a number of packages throughout the regions by local BMW offices.
Each of these packages will be the subject of separate requests for tender to be subsequently advertised on Tenders WA.
The aim is to replace obsolete gas heaters, remove flues and associated items manufactured from asbestos containing material (ACM) and create an accurate record the heaters installed in schools.
Heaters to be replaced may include console type and wall furnace type heaters of varying output capacity in both natural gas and LPG fired variants.
Tenderers will be required to provide a schedule of rates for the supply installation of a range of heater types and associated accessories, audit and reporting and the removal and disposal of flues and associated items containing asbestos.
Successful tenders will be required to source heaters and accessories from BMW’s contracted supplier (or suppliers) at predetermined prices that will be fixed the duration of the contract.
Tender packages are expected to range from 4 to 25 school sites or 11 to 125 heaters.
All asbestos related work (removal of flues and infill panels etc) must be performed out of school hours by a holder of a Restricted (or higher) Asbestos Removal Licence.
It is anticipated that contracts for the above works will be awarded 15 to 20 December 2010.
Interested tenderers should consider being prepared to commence work during the December 2010 to January 2011 school holidays.
The completion date for the contract will be in June 2011.
