Description

The first part of Upper Burnie Primary School was built in 1912 and the original building still forms part of the school, much of this has been added on to with brick renovations done at least 25 years ago. The original building has facias and gables that are weatherboard and possibly still original, the brick renovations have colorbond guttering which requires painting. There is a double terrapin that is at least 25 years old with a smooth board surface to be included in the work, the pine decking around the double terrapin will require painting or staining also. The kindergarten building, which is mainly brick, is also to be included in the work (NOTE: There is a single terrapin that IS NOT to be included in the work). At present all external painted surfaces are in a moderate to poor condition overall. The school would envisage contracting a suitably qualified organisation for a period of five (5) or seven (7) years to provide the required service. Organisations wishing to tender for the contract should develop and submit a costed maintenance plan for each year of the contract based on the present condition of the school. An opportunity to inspect all areas covered by the contract will occur during the site visit (all surfaces described above will be clearly identified).
