Kareeya Power Station - Resurfacing of Road

This Specification provides for re-surfacing with Asphaltic Concrete (AC) of the existing bitumen-sealed and un-sealed road from the Valve Chamber Portal to the Intake Works at Kareeya Power Station. The road is single-lane, typically 3.5m to 4.5m width plus shoulders. Proposed width of AC surfacing is generally 4.0m with 0.5m shoulders surfaced in part with AC for safety and drainage requirements. Total length of road is approximately 2.2 km.

Associated work includes re-paving the un-sealed road (about 440m) prior to sealing, local restoration and/or widening of pavement and shoulders in the bitumen-sealed road, clean out and repair of table drains and culverts, and upgrade of road furniture and signage at nominated locations. Preparation and AC surfacing of short lengths of side road is also required.
