Elverdton Dust Monitoring Kit Stage 2

The detailed site investigation (DSI) has identified potential human health concerns associated with dust generated from the Elverdton tailings. Additionally, there are existing community concerns about dust from the tailings stockpiles and sediment fan, including anecdotal reporting of dust affecting visibility on the Ravensthorpe Hopetoun Road. Further studies are required to address current data gaps. Given the DSI’s preliminary findings on dust impacts, particularly in relation to community health, proximity to neighbours, and the adjacent road, a dust suppression study is underway and a dust monitoring study has being prioritized with the appointed Mandatory Contaminated Site Auditor (MCSA) support. Proactively addressing these concerns before the DSI report is published will assist in maintaining community support for the project. This procurement is to expand the current the dust monitoring program in place to include three additional monitoring locations (further to the monitoring station situated at the neighbouring household) which will assist in addressing the data gap identified from the DSI and community concerns.
