Connecting Schools Grant Infrastructure

Your Move is a Department of Transport (DoT) travel behaviour change program that works with schools, workplaces and communities to increase walking, bike riding and public transport use (i.e. active transport) and decrease car use.

The Your Move Schools program aims to increase walking, cycling, scooting and public transport trips and reduce car trips to and from school, resulting in reduced local congestion and parking issues around schools and increased physical activity and road safety awareness outcomes for students.

DoT delivers the Connecting Schools grant program through the Your Move Schools digital platform, linking grant funding to the achievement of accreditation levels within the Your Move Schools program. The grants provide an excellent incentive for schools to engage with the Your Move Schools program and provides access to a variety of packages including bike and scooter parking, bike repair stations and small-scale bike shelter and shading options. The packages are majority funded by DoT with some support from the Department of Education (DoE).

Some similar products are also offered as rewards for points earned in the Your Move Rewards Shop.

With the original Connecting Schools Grant Infrastructure contract concluding, DoT is now looking for a Contractor to supply, install and advise on bike infrastructure projects for the next three years, as funding for the Connecting Schools grant program has been allocated for this period.
