City of Tea Tree Gully
Modbury Oval Drainage System
Details
Description
The Modbury sporting complex is undergoing a major upgrade to its main sports oval with a new drainage system being installed to improve the existing turf surface throughout the winter sporting months. The existing irrigation system was installed nine years ago which will remain with the new drainage being installed below this. The existing turf cover has a high usage throughout the year and with the new drainage system removing surface water, the goal is to achieve a better quality playing surface all year round for all end users to enjoy.
The Council is seeking the services of a suitable qualified Contractor to undertake the works as specified in the attached drawing and specifications. All works are to be carried out in strict accordance with approved design documentation. During construction stages it is the Council’s aim to continue irrigation on turf areas not associated with current works to maintain the turf quality to minimise damage.
The centre wicket is also part of the upgrade being carried out separate to the drainage project. Initial works to be incorporated around the centre wicket upgrade, with the completion of the wicket work to be completed after practical completion of the drainage.
