Description

The Queensland Government purchased Springvale Station, a 56,295ha property in Far North Queensland in 2016. The property is approximately 3.5 hours north of Cairns and near the town of Lakeland. The property was purchased to add to the State’s protected area network and complement activities being undertaken to reduce sediment run-off entering the Normanby River catchment that drains to the northern Great Barrier Reef.
The Queensland Government is seeking proposals for works associated with road repair and stabilising gully erosion in sections along the Springvale Station property track known as Keetings Road, which is a property track that provides access from the homestead through forested gullied country to Keetings Yard.
