Supply of Patient Aids and Appliances to Western Australian Health Service Providers

Health Support Services (HSS) has a requirement for the supply of Patient Aids and Appliances for use on a state-wide basis to Western Australian (WA) Health Service Providers (HSPs).

Patient aids and appliances are used to assist both patients and clinicians in the hospital and home care setting post discharge. These devices assist patients recovering from injury or surgery and those with long term or permanent disability, to perform the activities required for daily living. In some cases, patients will have to undergo extensive rehabilitation therapy to regain partial or full physical capability and require the appropriate equipment to aid in their recovery. As well as assisting patients, a vast array of aids and appliances are used in a variety of clinical settings to assist staff with the mobilisation, transfer and care of patients.

The categories of products required are:

1. Bed Equipment;
2. Building Related Equipment;
3. Hygiene Aids;
4. Transfer and Lifting Aids;
5. Seating Non-Custom;
6. Walking Mobility Aids;
7. Wheelchairs Non-Prescribed;
8. Scales;
9. Pressure Prevention; and
10. Kitchen Aids.
    The Head Agreement established as a result of this Request may be awarded in any of the following ways:

• a single supplier for all items within a category, or sub-category (where applicable);
• a single supplier for individual items within a category, or sub-category (where applicable); or
• a panel of suppliers.
  The resultant contract will be mandatory for all HSPs.
  The resultant Head Agreement will constitute a standing offer, whereby Customers can place Orders on an ‘as required’ basis during the Term.
