The Department of Agriculture and Food Western Australia (DAFWA) has a requirement for a suitably qualified contractor for the construction of the Yilgarn Gap section of the State Barrier Fence, including installation of lap wire to the fence, utilising materials already purchased through Royalties for Regions and supplied by DAFWA.
The existing State Barrier Fence (SBF) stretches 1,170 kilometres (kms) from the Zuytdorp Cliffs north of Kalbarri to 35 km east of Ravensthorpe, bordering the agricultural region of the State. The purpose of the fence is to minimize the impact of migrating emus, wild dogs and kangaroos in the Southwest Land Division.
This Request covers the project to increase the capacity of the SBF and fill the existing gap in the fence through the Yilgarn Shire.
DAFWA reserves the right to award the contract to a single Respondent for all sections or multiple respondents for each sections(s) for the construction of the Yilgarn Gap of the SBF including installation of the lapwire, to cover their requirements.
