Description
Wild dogs pose a critical threat to the viability of the SA sheep industry. Over the last decade, the impacts of wild dogs on the South Australian livestock industry dramatically increased.
In May 2019, the Commonwealth Government, State Government and industry committed to provide $25 million for the rebuild of the old sections of the Dog Fence, which is expected to take up to 5 years.
A panel of fencing contractors will be established. This procurement process will seek to engage with contractors in a manner that provides maximum benefit to local business in South Australia and provides short and long-term investmenbt and employment opportunities in regional communities.
