National Gallery of Australia
Storage and Distribution Services Commercial Inventory
Details
Description
Manufacturers dispatch inventory directly to the warehouse distribution centre working closely with stakeholders ensuring coding and efficient delivery. Key product lines include paper products (e.g. posters, postcards, notebooks etc.), books, homewares, apparel, jewellery and stationery. A bespoke product range is also created for each major exhibition based on the works on display and will include a catalogue. During major exhibitions (typically winter and summer), catalogue stockholdings increase requiring high volume palleted delivery into the gallery. To fulfill high demand, exhibition catalogues requires next-day delivery, which necessitates an effective dispatch and distribution system from the offsite warehouse.
The requirement is for the management of the end-to-end process including:
- Receipt of incoming merchandise into the warehouse.
- Storage of inventory.
- Inventory management and associated regular reporting (including stock-take requirements).
- Order fulfilment and delivery to the National Gallery in Canberra and other business-to-business clients across Australia and internationally.
The service provider will also need to be able to provide flexibility and the capability to offer variable storage options to accommodate seasonal inventory fluctuations. The proposed commencement date for the services required within this RFT is 1 July 2024.
