Principal Contractor - Provision of Upgrade to the Operating Theatre HVAC and Site Wide Medical Gas Reticulation System for Queen Elizabeth II (QEII) Jubilee Hospital - Priority Capital Program

Background

Metro South Health is seeking to engage a suitably experienced Principal Contractor to undertake the required construction works for the Operating Theatre Heating, Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) and Medical Gas Compliance project through a Construct Only style contract.

Operating Theatre HVAC Upgrade
Staged demolition of existing Air Handling Units (AHU’s), supply and installation of new AHU’s associated with Operating Theatres 1 to 6, Operating Theatre corridor, sterile store room and urodynamic. Provision of five (5) new custom modified Airepure FOCUS 1000 operating theatre ceiling ventilation systems in Operating Theatres 2 to 6.
Provision of two (2) sub mechanical services switch board’s (MSSB’s) and modifications to existing MSSB’s to allow for the removal of the existing MSSB to allow for the removal of the existing plant.

Medical Gas Compliance
Installation of three (3) new medical gas risers from ground floor to level 5 for oxygen, medical air and nitrous oxide. Modifications to medical gas reticulation on ground floor, levels 2,3, 4 and 5 including new risers, new isolation facilities within riser shaft, new pipework from riser to nurse stations, new Zone Isolation Valve Boxes (ZIVB’s), new Medical Gas Alarm Panels (MGAPs) and Medical Service Panels (MSPs) (ground floor only) and new reticulation pipework.
